Glen Burnie, MD (Arundel.News & AAFA)- If you're into aerial construction, this week will provide a unique opportunity to see a helicopter moving 20 foot sections to build two of Anne Arundel County's Public Safety Radio Towers. The work will begin on Wednesday October 20th and is expected to be complete on Friday October 22nd. Part of the operations will finish construction of the new 300 foot Arnold Wells Public Safety Radio Tower on College Parkway. The first 140 feet of that tower were erected from the ground by crane. To complete the total height, eight twenty foot sections of tower will be moved by chopper from Annapolis to the 500 block of College Parkway, where they will be connected to the base of the new structure.Â
In Glen Burnie, the helicopter will transport two twenty foot pieces of tower from Solley Park in Glen Burnie, to the 7500 block of Solley Road in Curtis Bay. Solley park will be closed on Thursday October 20th as that work takes place.Â
