Annapolis, MD (Arundel.News & AAFA)- A teacher from Annapolis High School is facing serious allegations that she had inappropriate sexual contact with a former student. 41 year old Jennifer Arnold, of Arnold, is accused of sex abuse, as well as third and fourth degree sex offenses for her involvement with a 17 year old male student. According to Anne Arundel County Police, the allegations were first reported in July 2021. The Board of Education was reportedly also notified about the investigation by police in July. AACPS subsequently banned Arnold from returning to the high school as that investigation continued. Arnold is listed as a special education teacher by the AACPS website.
The victim met with police for an interview on July 29th 2021, where he revealed the details of his relationship with his teacher. Additional interviews with witnesses led to Arnold being charged with multiple sex offenses involving a minor. She was taken into custody on 10/1/21 and has been released on her own recognizance.

"On July 6, 2021, the Anne Arundel County Police and the Department of Social Services were notified in reference to a possible sex offense involving a schoolteacher at Annapolis High School and a student. Notification was made to the Board of Education, and the teacher was banned from returning to Annapolis High School while the investigation occurred.
The victim, who is a 17-year-old-male and now resides out of state, was interviewed on July 29, 2021. During the interview, the victim disclosed inappropriate sexual contact with the suspect when he attended Annapolis High School.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department's Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse Squad and members from the Department of Social Services coordinated additional interviews of the suspect and other potential witnesses.
Upon the conclusion of this investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Jennifer Arnold, the suspect, with the sex abuse of a minor, 3rd-degree sex offense, and 4th-degree sex offense involving a person in the position of authority. On 10/01/2021, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
