Annapolis, MD (Arundel.News & AAFA)- A 38 year old Annapolis man is in custody at the Jennifer Road Detention Center, charged with robbing the Wells Fargo Bank in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Road on 5/18. Pedro Nguyen is being charged with bank robbery and other related charges for allegedly passing a note demanding money, to a teller at the bank. Nguyen reportedly escaped capture the day of the incident, but was located by police and charged the following day. He is being held on a $100,000 bond. 

Police released the following information on other pending cases including theft of automobiles, stolen credit cards and a stolen purse valued at $3,000.00.

22-10477- Robbery- 1800 block of Forest Dr

On 5/20/22 at approximately 3:15 pm, officers responded to the 1800 block of Forest Dr.  in reference to a robbery that had just occurred. The victim stated that an unknown male punched him with a closed fist and stole his cellular phone. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle prior to officers' arrival. The victim did not require medical attention.

22-10529 - Auto Theft/Arrest - 1200 block of McKinley St 

On 5/21/22 at approximately 6:30am, officers responded to the 1200 block of McKinley St. for a reported stolen auto. The victim advised that someone stole his 2018 Chevrolet 2500 truck. At approximately 3:43 pm, officers located the vehicle and arrested the sole occupant Miguel Paredes- Alvarez 2/14/1998.

22-10542 - 1st Degree Assault - 900 block of Spa Rd

On 5/21/22 at approximately 1:08pm, officers responded to an athletic field in the 900 block of Spa Rd. for a reported assault in progress. As officers arrived, they did observe a fight in progress. The suspect involved was identified as Jakyle Shirley 5/24/1985. Shirley was placed under arrest and later committed to AACO Detention Center. 

22- 10562 -Theft Unit block of Compromise St

On 5/21/22 at approximately 1:45pm, officers responded to the unit block of Compromise St. for a reported theft. The victim said that her wallet was stolen, and several purchases were made using her credit cards that were in the purse. Transactions were made at five different locations totaling $5,074.06.

22-10615 - Theft/Auto - 100 block of S. Southwood Ave 
On 5/22/22 at approximately 7:45am, officers responded to the 100 block of South Southwood Ave. for a reported theft from auto. The victim advised that someone stole his wife's purse from his vehicle that was left unsecured. Total loss value to the victim was $50.00.

22-10616 - Theft/Auto - 100 block of S. Southwood Ave 
On 5/22/22 at approximately 8:00am, officers responded to the 100 block of South Southwood Ave. for a reported theft from auto. The victim said that her Louis Viutton purse was stolen from her unsecured vehicle. The purse was valued at $3,000.

22-10703 - Theft - 200 block of Norwood Rd.

On 5/23/2022 officers responded to the 200 block of Norwood Road for a reported theft. The victim advised that his 2018 Honda dirt bike was stolen from his unsecured garage. The dirt bike was described as red in color with the number 7 on the side. The dirt bike was valued at approximately $12,000.

22-10326 - Bank Robbery - 900 block of Bay Ridge Rd.

On 5/18/2022 officers responded to the 900 block of Bay Ridge Road for a reported bank robbery that just occurred. An unknown male suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note announcing a robbery. The teller complied and the suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. Officers canvassed the area but did not locate the suspect. 

UPDATE-

After investigation by detectives and with the help of patrol officers, Pedro Nguyen, 38, of Annapolis was arrested for his involvement in this bank robbery.

On May 19, Nguyen was charged with robbery and four other related charges. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center with a $100,000 bond. The investigation into this incident is continuing."
