Annapolis, MD ( Arundel.News & AAFA)- Students in Anne Arundel County schools won't be able to have homecoming dances for a second year, but the county is offering other celebratory options. Games will be allowed according to an announcement made by Anne Arundel County Public Schools Monday. Parades, pep rallies and other outdoor activities like cookouts will be permitted. School officials made the call to postpone large indoor dances to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
Superintendent George Arlotto says, "Sponsoring multi-hour events where hundreds of students are in very close proximity to each other at an indoor event is not one that is prudent at this time”.
